hiking in the desert

Oh, what a day! I spent the day hiking with a girlfriend and the Sierra Club in the outskirts of Phoenix.  It is always so refreshing to get out in nature and get my workout on, and with a good friend by my side that’s just even better 🙂 One of my goals this year was to get outside more and explore the state we live in.  Aside from the blotchy sunburn from where I missed applying sunscreen, I think this excursion was a success 😉 Here are some pictures from today.  I’m not a photographer, so these don’t do the view ANY justice, but these are my favorites anyway…

I’m intrigued for sure! There are fewer and fewer around here every year because of all the developments going up. But I’ll keep an eye out when monsoon season hits 🙂
