Ready, Set, FALL!

Happy Sunday, everyone! We are enjoying the day by finishing up our Fall decorating, alternating with being lazy on the couch.  Gotta love a little moderation, right? HA! I decorated our front porch for Fall a few weekends ago, but never made it to the inside.  We will keep adding decorative touches here and there, and to our backyard too, as we get closer to the Pumpkin Party.  I have to apologize in advance if you are not into the entertaining/decorating/Fall thing, because I have a lot of posts coming up that involve just that.  Hang in there, though, I’ll be posting about everything else too! In the meantime, here are some of the things we have around our house right now!

Decorating A Fall Mantel

As you can see, I sort of have a love affair with Autumn leaves, pumpkins/gourds, and especially scarecrows! They are SO cute! I even dressed up as a scarecrow last year.  Check it out:

For me, decorating around what we already have and taking down things that create clutter are equally important.  For instance, our mantel hutch is usually decorated with a miniature tricycle, a ceramic urn, a decorative plate on a stand, a small wooden statue, a buddha bottle and a vintage horn with the coffee boxes, the copper windmill and the twine ball (whew! that is a lot of stuff now that I’m reading this!).  I just put those things away in the Halloween decoration boxes so there is room to add the leaf strand, scarecrow, fake pumpkin and the gourd.  I try to keep some of our favorite things out so that it isn’t ALL holiday.

How do you decorate for the season? Are you all about Autumn colors and staples like me? Or do you go the creepy or scary route? I’d love to hear from you!

  1. I am very interested in knowing if those pumpkins that look made of paper are homemade and how 😉
