Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve had a great weekend so far! I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a while, it’s been so busy around here and I decided to not make a single plan for the last two days. It’s amazing what can happen when I’ve got time to myself. Projects get done, the house gets cleaned, I get to blog and create. It’s been really nice, but of course I’m looking forward to being social next weekend!
Speaking of being social, check these cutie pies out:
They had a blast coming over for a hair salon party Easter weekend! It was an inexpensive party I literally had to throw together at the last minute because of a mishap with my car and being immobile for the week leading up to party day. Seriously, I cleaned, prepped food and hung decorations up until the final minute. It was SO worth the effort though, these ladies had a great time styling, giggling and eating!
Budget: I was able to put this sweet hair salon party together for just under $100, and had enough supplies for 8 girls!
Menu: veggie cups, fruit cones, circus cookies, sugar wafers, ham/turkey and cheese sandwiches and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Supplies: I raided the dollar store for goodie bags and filled them with hair accessories and bracelets. I also got some cute spring baskets to hold the accessories we’d use for our hair: barrettes, headbands, rubber bands, bobby pins and clips. I stopped by Sally’s Beauty Supply to get some neat-o hair chalk dealies, and some bright clip-in hair extensions. I set up a tray with curling irons, hair products, a blow dryer, combs and brushes. I got the girls an apron to wear, and some lanterns and paper fans for decorations. Last, but not least, I grabbed a bouquet of Gerbera daisies in the color of the day!
The girls each got an adult hair model to work on. They brushed, twirled, colored, crimped and curled their little hearts out, giggling and chatting the whole time. It was truly a blast, and I’m so glad they enjoyed themselves!

This would be a great party for a little girl’s birthday, but we did it just for funsies. And I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
